I think that the government should not have a bunch of control. I do think that they should have enough control to keep things under control. The reason I think this is because if they had too much control they would make the citizens mad. If the citizens got mad they might revolt. I think the amount of control the government has right now is okay I hope it does not change unless it is completely needed.

I think the government should not have control over citizen's lives because citizens should be able to do anything they want, within reason. One reason the government SHOULD have a little control is to make sure that the citizens don't break the law or commit crimes. The reason I say that is because I am pretty sure no one wants crazy people running around and breaking the law. So what I'm saying is the government should have a little control over the citizens but not too much to where they can't do anything they want. I think the government shouldn't have too much control over us. They should have enough control to keep us inline, not micromanage our choices and lives. The government has too much control now, how in certain states there it is like forbidden to have homosexual marriage. I think if someone wants to get married, it doesn't matter what gender as long as your in love. Another example is, the government puts innocent people in jail and keeps the lunatics on the street. They should force everyone who has been placed in court for a crime to do a lie detector. Less innocent people would stop being convicted and the true criminals would go to jail. I think the government should control the lives of the citizens but to not control their whole life. The government should only control the parts of the lives of the citizens that involve the government and the law if it's necessary. For example, if the government wanted to control the way people do things like voting it wouldn't be fair because citizens should chose who should be in the government not choose who would be on there with them. Work is an example of how the government should control the citizen's lives. When people work they should work with fair wages, not less than other people's and jobs wages but equal or close to equal payments. Even though many people who work go on strike for fair wages the government does care or pay attention to the people who are striking. The reason that the government doesn't pay attention or listens to those people is probably, in my opinion, is that they don't have enough money to boost up their wages so they just ignore them. -Valeria L.

I don't think the Government should have control over us. I mean, if they ever do.. they'll end up making the most pointless laws. If having control over the citizens means paying our bills, providing our health insurance, and maybe buying every new born child everything they need, etc. Then I think it's a great idea. But that's not going to happen. The Government doesn't have as much power as it seems it does, nor does it have a lot of money. It's a free country, we're able to do whatever we want aren't we? Yes, they're able to have a little bit of control. Just enough to keep us in line, so that big crimes don't occur. But than again, my opinion is no.

We are human beings not a pack of dogs.They can have control over like what side we are on in politics or health insurance but they can't control what I eat, where I sleep, Where I go, How I live my life and who I like or dislike. The goverment should control you by what you do, for example the laws. You should control about 3/4 of you life. Say like how you dress your-self, they cant tell you how to dress, unless its being undressed. The only thing they should control is the speed limit and etc.
The government should have no control over its citizens. For example the government is making us buy life insurance. We should have the right to decide if we want to buy it or not. This is just the beginning of what rights the government can take away from us. They could start making us go to work in certain places, living in some other state, and so on. I think the government should have little control over us. They shouldn't make our choices for us, they shouldn't force us to do something we do not want to. If what you are trying to ask is should the government control your life well they don't. They can't force you to write everything they say. I personally disagree of the actions towards the government but people still have total control of there life they just choose not to. People will rob or steal but the government still doesn't have control. We can stand up for our self but justice should be put in action people should pay for what they have done. I think that the government has control over us whether we like it or not. When people say that it is a "Free Country", the "Government is only there to set laws", and "they can't make our decisions", I don't think they are considering another aspect, or point of view. The government cannot tell us what is in our heads, or how we think. Furthermore they can not decide or make choices of our life style. However, they can enforce it. The government is what is running our country. With out them having control, we'd go absolutely crazy. I mean look at the things that happened during the government shut down! How do we continue with our freedoms and constitutional rights, and living by "United we stand, Divided we fall" if we are all singular, which is what we would be without the government? We need someone to lead us. Even if we disagree with things, think of the positive too. The government controls our lives, (for the most part) and they can definitely influence, or enforce it. Only about 20% of peoples choices should be controlled over by the government. so that they can keep the country in balance, but we should keep most of our life to our self.also I think we should not have our money controlled by the government. thats what I think about that.
